TySOM-2 is a compact prototyping board manufactured with the XC7Z100 chip - the largest capacity among the devices of the Zynq 7000 family.

It is designed to provide maximum flexibility in the choice of peripherals, using the largest chip package (FFG900) with 362 E / A and 16 GTX transceivers, and providing two FMC-HPC connectors that allow the use of extension Daughter boards. Included on this board are standard peripherals such as DDR3 RAM, USB and HDMI, which are required for the ARM CPU processing system, so that the Linux operating system or other real-time operating system (RTOS) can be started immediately without additional hardware components. The operating system and software run by the ARM Cortex CPU have 1 GB of DDR3 RAM and can use up to 32 GB of SSD storage on a micro SD card.

FMC Daughter Boards

Communication and networking is enabled through the Gigabit Ethernet PHY with RJ45 connector, and standard peripherals can be connected to the USB 2.0 hub that offers 4 USB ports. There is also an HDMI codec on the card, which allows this TySOM minicomputer to be connected to a standard monitor. Most of the FPGA I/O ports are routed to two FMC HPC sockets, providing a total of 288 I/O and 16 GTX lines. This allows additional devices to be connected as FMC daughter boards provided by Aldec and other vendors.
