RTAX/RTSX Adaptor Boards

rtax_rtsx_prototyping_img_01Aldec's prototyping solution for Microsemi ™ RTAX-S/SL and RTSX-SU devices use reprogrammable flash-based ProASIC3E FPGAs (both the RTAX/RTSX and ProASIC3E device family belong to Microsemi). The RTAX-S/SL and RTSX-SU prototyping package includes a prototyping adapter board that matches the ProASIC3E device footprint to the RTAX-S/SL and RTSX-SU device footprint (eg. B. CQ208, CQ256, CQ352, CG624). . Support is also available for the larger CG1272 packages. After soldering the adapter to the board, the ProASIC3E device can be reprogrammed via the JTAG interface connector.

EDIF Netlist Converter Software

An optional software product for RTAX/RTSX EDIF Netlist Converter is available and performs automatic conversion of RTAX/RTSX EDIF netlist to ProASIC3E EDIF netlist. It replaces primitives and memory considering the differences between RTAX-S/SL and ProASIC3E architectures.

The RTAX2A3P converter also performs an automatic conversion of the PDC restriction files. The RTAX EDIF Netlist Converter complements the hardware adapter by allowing a "seamless" move of RTAX designs to a reprogrammable prototyping platform.

  • Automatic conversion of RTAX-S/SL EDIF netlist to ProASIC3E netlist
  • Replacement of primitives
  • Considering the limitations/differences between RTAX-S/SL anti-fuse and ProASIC3/E-Flash based technologies
  • A pin remapping utility that enables automatic PDC (Physical Design Constraint) file conversion and global mesh support

RTAX / RTSX adapter cards

Aldec and Microsemi have joined forces to offer a new, innovative, reprogrammable prototyping solution for the Microsemi RTAX-S/S and RTSX-SU space system designs. Unique to the same space-saving OTP (One Time Programmable) FPGAs for backup, the Aldec prototype adapter uses Flash-related Microsemi ProASIC®3E FPGA technology for prototype reprogrammability.
