Description

The Passmark ECC tester allows to determine whether the expected error correction function is working as expected.

Features

  • Test your ECC error detection and correction mechanisms.
  • Inject single and double bit errors in real time.
  • Test machines with CPU, motherboard and DDR4 RAM ECC support.
  • Suitable for use with MemTest86 and BurnInTest.

Why Test ECC Memory?

ECC memory (Error Correction Code) is a type of RAM that automatically detects and corrects memory errors via an additional memory chip. Appreciated by those who store and manage critical data on workstations and servers, ECC RAM is said to have a much lower failure rate and thus cause fewer crashes.

If you have ECC RAM installed, you can use the PassMark ECC tester to determine if the error correction features are working as expected.

Extensive test options

The PassMark ECC tester is a DDR4 DIMM interposer designed to insert single-bit and double-bit errors in real time to challenge the error detection and correction mechanism of computers with CPU, motherboard and RAM sticks with ECC support and to test.

The tester has 4 physical buttons that can be programmed to inject single errors or a sequence of errors when pressed and choose between breaking the data or checksum line.

montest_slide_1

The ECC tester is designed to put your ECC RAM inline on your motherboard and acts as an interposer used to inject single and double bit errors. It also connects to your system via USB to track results.

With the included USB connector, users can change the ECC tester setting, monitor voltages on the memory bus, and control MemTest86 and BurnInTest error injection.

motherboard_compatability

Every PassMark ECC Tester purchase includes access to ECCTest for Windows. Functionality includes:

Überwachen Sie die Spannungen auf Ihrem RAM.

  • Monitor the VTT, VREFCA, VPP, and VDD voltages on the RAM stick.
  • Record and save a log of the voltages on the RAM stick as it is in use.

Customize the type of errors generated.

  • Simple interface to program the type of error generated when a button is pressed on the ECC tester.
  • Customization options include creating single or recurring errors, and correctable or uncorrectable errors.
ecc_test
Test error detection and correction directly in MemTest86, no operating system required. During your memory tests, insert errors with the ECC tester to see if the system correctly detects ECC errors.

Connectivity

The ECC Tester is designed to put your ECC RAM inline on your motherboard and connects via USB.

Software Compatibility

With Memtest86, test error detection and correction directly in MemTest86, without the need for an operating system. During your memory tests, insert bugs with the ECC tester to see if the system correctly detects ECC bugs.
