Analysis of the metal foil winding of film capacitors
Film capacitors use metal foils as electrodes , which are laminated on both sides with plastic films such as polyethylene, polypropylene, polystyrene, or polycarbonate . These layers are then wound into a cylindrical capacitor.
As part of a scientific research project at a university, a digital measuring bridge and a programmable AC/DC high voltage and insulation tester from Tonghui are used to test the capacitance, loss factor, dielectric strength and breakdown voltage of the metal foil.

Solution details
Measurement requirements:
- Frequency: 100 Hz / 1 kHz
- Level: 1 V
- Measurement of capacity value and loss factor
- Measurement of the leakage current of thin films and the breakdown voltage at different voltages
