Hardware details
The SDS5000L is a low-profile module without an integrated display and digital input channels (MSO-capable). Several SDS5000L modules can be synchronised via a 64-channel distributor (SYN64) to form a high-channel acquisition system with up to 512 channels. Alternatively, a single SDS5000L module connected to an external display and mouse can function as a stand-alone oscilloscope. Remote control is via LAN, including web browser access. A comprehensive SCPI command set via the integrated 1000 Mbps Ethernet interface enables fast data acquisition for automated test applications.
Product highlights

Analysing the switch-on sequence
Testing the switch-on sequence ensures that the signals from different circuit modules follow the correct timing in order to avoid conflicts and guarantee system stability. As the complexity of the circuits increases, so do the requirements for the switch-on test. The SDS5000L captures the entire power-up process of all relevant signals in a single acquisition, reducing measurement time, improving efficiency and minimising errors caused by repetitive testing. For complex circuits with 8 busbars, this capability enables one-shot measurements.

Three-phase power analysis
Using an 8-channel oscilloscope for three-phase power analysis enables simultaneous connection to all phases. It measures three-phase voltage and current signals synchronously, capturing precise waveforms and parameters in real time. With the Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) function, the multi-channel oscilloscopes carry out a harmonic analysis of three-phase signals. The optional three-phase analysis software supports motor vector diagram testing, power quality evaluation, ripple analysis and efficiency evaluation.

Complete solution for testing wide bandgap semiconductors
The launch of Siglent's latest 8-channel oscilloscopes and optically isolated probes completes the final piece of the wide bandgap semiconductor testing puzzle. The SDS5000L achieves picosecond (ps) rise time and captures fast switching waveforms of silicon carbide (SiC) and gallium nitride (GaN) devices. It analyses transient voltage and current changes during switching as well as characteristics such as overshoot and ringing to optimise circuit design and signal integrity.

Flexible multi-channel high-speed acquisition system
The SDS5000L is characterised by a compact form factor with a height of only 1U, which enables the construction of flexible multi-channel acquisition systems. Multiple units are combined to create a high-speed acquisition system with up to 512 channels by triggering them with low offset synchronisation signals from the SYN64 64-channel synchronisation distributor. The host can access each unit via 1000M LAN. A full SCPI command set, LabVIEW and IVI drivers are available for easy data acquisition. The LAN connection is LXI compliant. Sampling clocks are synchronised between all devices in the test system by cascading the 10MHz input and 10MHz output clocks in a daisy chain.
