The SDS5000HD-8BW3TA is a software-based license option that upgrades 8-channel instruments of the SDS5000X HD family from 350 MHz to 1 GHz bandwidth. Activating this option increases the instrument's analog bandwidth, enabling more precise capture of fast signal edges and short-duration transients. This option is designed for users in research and development, as well as in power and power semiconductor testing, for example, with SiC or GaN circuits. The upgrade is performed via software activation and requires no mechanical modification of the instrument. The license is compatible exclusively with the 8-channel models of the SDS5000X HD series. Once activated, the enhanced high-frequency measurement capabilities are available for existing test setups, enabling higher-resolution analysis of overshoot, ringing, and fast switching events.
